Asobi Seksu Interview

Yuki Chikudate of Asobi Seksu at The Middle East Downstairs

I love Asobi Seksu. Citrus is an amazing album and they're working on a follow-up right now. Not a lot of info about it, but you can check out this cool interview with Yuki Chikudate (lead singer of Asobi Seksu) that The Walrus did.

A few years ago, CMJ announced that they were going to be playing the marathon, but it ended up not happening. I was pretty bummed because I had just fallen in love with them and hadn't seen them yet. Lame. Later on, though, I got the see them play Boston. Unfortunately, Yuki was pretty sick at the time and it made for a sub-par show. They opened for The Ataris (wtf?) but that allowed me to head over to another club and catch Dalek. That was a pretty sweet night.

Check out Asobi Seksu's MySpace page for some tracks, including a rad remix of Thursday by CSS.

Eluvium Interview

Sometimes I work. Like, a LOT. And when that happens, I can't blog. Sorry. Not that I don't have anything to talk about. I went to a couple of shows that I'm going to talk about soon. And there's always lots of new records to talk about, too. But, in the meantime, I will leave you with this interview of Eluvium (aka Matthew Cooper) from The Silent Ballet. It's pretty nifty. Enjoy it.

Interview With Tim Fite

It's time for me to profess my love for the gentleman with itchy legs once again.

My opinion matters

At least it does to The Salem News. They called me up last Friday before the Oscars to ask me some questions about the nominations for Best Picture. My major problem with the Academy Awards this year was that The Assassination Of Jesse James got shafted. The only nomination it got was Casey Affleck for Supporting Actor (which he should have one). That was the best movie that came out in 2007 and one of the best movies that has come out in the past 10 years. Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck were both fantastic in it and nobody got any recognition for it. I didn't like Juno very much to begin with, and I really don't like Ellen Page, but having that movie get plastered all over the Oscars while Jesse James gets one nomination is completely baffling.
